Frequently Asked Questions

What is counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy where the counsellor works together with the client to offer ways to explore issues or concerns you may have.

What happens in a counselling session?

Essentially, we sit in a calm space and you share your problems/issues with me and I support you to explore what is going on for you.  Through careful listening and questioning, I will assist you in identifying patterns of behaviour aiming to get to the root cause and gain better understanding of yourself and your world. Your counselling journey may help you to make positive change to improve your emotional wellbeing.

How many sessions will I need?

This is a difficult question to answer as it depends on the nature of what you wish to explore. Some clients begin with short term counselling if they have a specific issue they wish to focus on, which can be approximately six sessions, however your counselling journey will be guided by you and we will review.

Cancelled or missed sessions without 48 hours’ notice will incur a £50 cancellation fee.

Should I need to cancel a session, I will also give 48 hours’ notice.

How long is each session?

Each session lasts for 50 mins.
